Applications

Adhesion

Adhesive application (factory for interior materials for automobiles)

Problem

This manufacturer has formerly used an automatic spray gun to apply adhesive in the pressing process used for gluing together interior materials for automobiles, but the following problems arose.

· Adhesive became stringy during spraying.
· Width of coating that the spray provided was too narrow.
· Misted drifted up, deteriorating the work environment.

Solution

Lumina's PR-30W (φ1.5) automatic spray gun, which has separate systems for atomization air and pattern air, was used. Low pressure was selected for air atomization, and pressure for pattern air was set higher than it. This enabled a 30-40% wider pattern to be sprayed, with no stringiness. In addition, there was little scattering, which improved the work environment.

· Spray gun used: PR-30W-1.5
